What is Art for Hope?
Art for Hope is a fundraising event centered around an incredible auction, with all proceeds directly benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Cure Starts Now. Both organizations work tirelessly toward finding a cure for pediatric cancer, while supporting and caring for the amazing young warriors and their families going through treatment.
The Cure Starts Now represents something truly different – a grassroots effort dedicated to, not just fighting one cancer, but the elimination of ALL cancers. They believe as the experts do; that in order to truly cure cancer you have to focus on:
those cancers that are immune to treatment
those cancers that also affect children
and those cancers that are the biggest bullies with the highest death rate
We look forward to fundraising for The Cure Starts Now next year.

Mason’s Story
Mason was a sweet, kind and incredibly smart 6-year old boy. In February of 2023 he had a headache. As the next week and a half progressed, his symptoms got worse and he continued to get very sick. After four visits to his pediatrician with no answers, an ER visit to WakeMed would reveal a tumor on his brain, in the cerebellum. He was quickly transferred to UNC-Chapel Hill where he underwent a 5-hour emergency brain surgery.
While recovering from surgery his family received the unimaginable diagnosis, Mason had medulloblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. This strong boy endured 10-months of intense treatment: radiation plus a low-dose chemo, followed by 5-rounds of high dose chemo at St. Jude. During these months he had additional brain surgeries, multiple blood transfusions, platelet infusions, procedure after procedure and medicine after medicine. Unfortunately, his disease did not respond to treatment and he gained his angel wings on Nov. 6, 2023. His family and friends continue to fight for him and every other child that is impacted by this devastating disease.

Mason’s treatment at St. Jude cost an estimated 32 million dollars.
Approximately 75% of St. Jude's costs are covered by public contributions.
This year Art for Hope raised over $72,000, thanks to the generous help of our sponsors and supporters!
Help us find a cure
According to the American Brain Tumor Association, more than 28,000 children are currently diagnosed with a brain tumor. However, only 4% of all cancer funding goes toward pediatric cancer research.
